Italy: Vibo Valentia, Padova and Cisterna win recovery matches

Three recovery matches of 2021/22 Italian Superlega CredemBanca were played today.

In a match valid for Round 14, Round 1 of second leg, Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia defeats at home newcomers Gioiella Prisma Taranto by 3-1 (25:15, 22:25, 25:20, 25:22), led by a super Nishida author of an impressive performance that recorded 29 points to his name.

Back to the victory also Kioene Padova, who defeats on the road the still winless Consar RCM Ravenna by 1-3 (21:25, 21:25, 25:23, 18:25) in a match valid for Round 16, or if you prefer Round 3 of second leg. The best is Mattia Bottolo, who ended the match with 19 points and 45% in attack, the same number of points scored by German opposite Linus Weber, while Loeppky was the most prolific player with 22 points.

The real surprise of the day is a straight sets win of Top Volley Cisterna, who defeats at home a Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza without starting setter Brizard (25:17, 26:24, 25:23) to dreaming playoffs. In fact, after today’s recovery, valid for Round 19 (Round 6 of second leg), the team coached by Soli boasts 20 points in the current charts, just one less from Verona and Padova, at this moment at eighth place.
