Austria: great comeback for Ried against Amstetten in Top Round from 2-0 to 2-3

UVC Weberzeile Ried scored today first win in their fourth Austrian Volley League Top Round game by beating VCA Amstetten NÖ on the road in the Johann-Pölz-Halle, who wasted a 2-0 lead (25:21, 25:18, 20:25, 31:33, 13:15).
The hosts, however, had to struggle with Covid in the past few weeks, and then there was also bad luck with injuries. In fact, they played without outside hitter Patryk Napiorkowski (shoulder) and middle blocker Szymon Rakowski (knee). Ried, on the other hand, has had to rely on captain Tomasz Rutecki.
Top scorers of the hosts were Aleksandar Veselinovic (20), Jakub Czyzowski (15) and Maximilian Schober (14), while among the winners Niklas Stooß (22), Niklas Etlinger and Markus Berger (15 each).

On Friday evening Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel will face SK Zadruga Aich/Dob in a big classic of Austrian volleyball. After four seasonal duels so far, the score is 2:2.
In Top Round, Aich/Dob is the current leader, having only lost one set in four games.
