China, the hosts, playing at Linping Sports Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, amazed the local fans with a dominating 3-0 (25:15, 25:20, 25:21) win over the strong Japan.
Earlier in the day, defending champions Iran displayed their prowess by beating past FIVB Challenger Cup silver medallists Qatar in straight sets too (25:20, 25:20, 25:22).
With this victory, theyβll play for their third consecutive Asian Games title.
