The defending champions, marked their 16th win of the season and back to the top of the standings after the win of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie over PGE Projekt Warszawa in big match on Saturday.
Tomasz Fornal was named MVP of the match with 18 points to his name well supported by Łukasz Kaczmarek and Timothee Carle who added 13 each, while Częstochowa’s Milad Ebadipour led all scorers with 21 points. Despite a competitive match, Częstochowa struggled with errors, committing 33 compared to the winners’ 20.
In the evening, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki edged out PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów 3-2 (23:25, 25:19, 16:25, 25:18, 15:11) in a thrilling tie-break. After trailing 4-8 in the decider, the winners staged an impressive comeback to claim victory, in a crucial succcess that bolsters their fight to avoid relegation.
Round 20 will close tomorrow with the match between ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Kozle and Trefl Gdańsk.
