Italy: latest from SuperLega – Loeppky, Rinaldi, Toscani, and Motta Paes’ first words as a Verona player

Cucine Lube Civitanova have extended Canadian outside hitter Eric Loeppky’s contract for another two seasons. Following the announcement, Loeppky said: “I’m honored to continue this journey! I want to win here. Civitanova has become a second home for me and my family!

Young setter Simone Rinaldi, who will join Padova’s first team next season, said in the club’s official statement: “Last season I had the opportunity to train several times with the first team, which allowed me to experience the level firsthand. Right from the start, I felt very comfortable with both the coaching staff and my teammates, who did everything they could to make me feel at home.

Now that move has become permanent, and he is approaching it with the composure that has always characterized him: “It is a tremendous honor for me to become part of the first team. I’m convinced this experience will help me grow not only as a player but also as a person. That’s why I can’t wait to begin this new chapter. I have a very calm personality and always try to bring composure and confidence onto the court, especially during the most delicate moments of a match.

Alessandro Toscani is the new libero for SuperLega newcomers Prata di Pordenone. He arrives after two seasons in Italy’s top flight with Padova and has previously played for Perugia, Bergamo, Castellana Grotte, and Ortona.

As we reported several weeks ago, Verona Volley have officially announced the signing of French setter Kellian Motta Paes.

His first words in the club’s official release were: “I’m truly excited to begin this new adventure with Rana Verona. It will be my first experience in Italy, a league that I have always followed with great interest and one that is a benchmark for world volleyball. I’m happy to continue my development in such an ambitious environment and to have the opportunity to work every day alongside Micah Christenson, one of the best setters in the world.

Rana Verona Sporting Director Adi Lami added: “Kellian is a young player who already possesses outstanding quality and personality. Over the past few years, he has made significant progress, gaining experience in different environments while consistently demonstrating a strong desire to improve. We believe Verona is the ideal place for him to continue his development, and we are confident that working every day alongside a champion like Christenson will allow him to further unlock his potential while also making an important contribution to the team.
