Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie achieved a historic result in Round 2 of the 2020/21 Polish Plusliga regular season: they beat PGE Skra Bełchatów for the first time in the club history.
They downed the most titled PlusLiga club in four sets, on the road, and all sets were finished with a two-point winning advantage (25:27, 26:24, 26:24, and 25:23)
Belchatow were unable to cope with the huge display of Mateusz Malinowski, who scored 30 points. Serbian Dušan Petković scored 23 points for the losing side.
On the other matches, Polish volleyball icon Mariusz Wlazły made a great debut for Trefl Gdańsk, scoring 16 points (5 blocks; 69 % attack) in a straight-set victory of his team over Cerrad Enea Czarni Radom, while Bartłomiej Lipiński served 4 aces. Dawid Konarski scored 12 points for Radom, while Dawid Dryja served 5 aces.
