Russia: Surgut, Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk win advances of Round 12

Three matches of 2021/22 Superliga Parimatch regular season Round 12 were played today.
Gazprom Surgut defeated at home last-placed Neftyanik Orenburg at tie break (25:19, 21:25, 23:25, 25:19, 15:13). Decisive for the comeback from 1-2 the entrance of Shakhbanmirzaev, from the bench.
Super favorite Zenit Saint Petersburg, with Poletaev and Urnaut left on the bench, won in straight sets on the field of Yenisey Krasnoyarsk (without Skrimov and with Iereshchenko on the bench) without major problems (20:25, 16:25, 13:25).
Straight sets win also for leaders of Lokomotiv Novosibirsk (still without injured Rodichev, while Perrin recovered already since last match) who, at home, defeated Yugra Samotlor Nizhnevartovsk as prediction (25:19, 25:23, 25:23).
Thus Lokomotiv continued pressuring Zenit-Kazan in what’s essentially a two-sided battle for the top spot in the competition and, with this result, they returned temporarily to the top of the standings.
Serbian Dražen Luburić was the top scorer today with 21 points, including 6 aces, while Roman Martyniuk made 71% reception (14 digs, 1 error, 21% excellent).
