Polish powerhouse PGE Skra Belchatow easily qualified as predicted to quarterfinals by beating 3-1 Bulgaria’s Neftohimik Burgas easier than in the first leg.
Let us remind you that Skra beat Neftohimik in the first match after the tie-break even though they went to Bulgaria with only 8 players. Skra was led today by the Dutch-Italian Dick Kooy, author of 21 points, while Damian Schulz served as many as 8 aces (!), and Karol Kłos set up 5 blocks. Robert Milczarek made 80% reception (10 digs, 30% excellent).
The Bełchatów side became the second team to secure a quarter-final spot. The first one was Kuzbass Kemerovo, but Russians reached so on the account of the withdrawal of France’s Montpellier HSC VB due to coronavirus problems.
In the other match of the day, Romania’s Arcada Galati, with the exception of first set, trampled over Germany’s United Frankfurt by beating them in straight sets (24:26, 13:25, 17:25).
