CEV Cup: all results of first leg 1/8 finals on Wednesday

Five matches of 2021/22 CEV Cup 1/8 finals were played on Wednesday.
Guaguas Las Palmas won with a clear 3-0 on the field of campo del Leuven, led by cuban Hernandez Carbonell, author of 18 punti and 54% in attack. Lot of absences in both sides: starters Peters and De Paepe, and Witvrouwen among the hosts, libero Alejandro Fernandez Rojas, cuban opposite Yadrian Escobar, second setter Cesar Martin, and otside hitter Iribarne, with starting moddle-blocker Knigge on the bench for Spanish.
Zenit Kazan (with Volvich and both
Volkov at rest) easily overwhelmed Dutch Orion, who recorded only 45 punti!
Easy also the 3-0 of Czechs Karlovarsko over the remains of Galatasaray (without Torres for appendicitis and Sedlacek for covid, and only Divis on the bench). A team that, moreover, has granted 24 errors in attacck!
0-3 also for Italian side Monza, on the field of SK Ankara, better know in volleyball world as Spor Toto, despite the heavy absence of Grozer (but also without head coach Eccheli), while the impressive winning streak of their compatriots, Leo Shoes Modena, came into a end, as they suffered a 3-1 defeats on the field of Tours Volley Ball.
