WCH 2022: all results of August 26 @ Katowice – Poland

2022 FIVB World Championship started today also in Poland.
In Pool C in Katowice, the United States gave no room for an upset to Mexico and earned their first 3 points in the competition by beating the rivals with a clear 3-0 (25:18, 25:20, 25:12). The winners were led in score by Aaron Russell, 16 points, while there were no players in double digits for Mexico but despite that, their middle blocker Axel Téllez managed to stand out in blocking with 4 points from this element.

In second match of the day hosts Poland destroy Bulgaria 3-0 (25:12, 25:20, 25:20) at home in Katowice in the same Pool. Bulgaria had a very small number of tangible chances to make a duel uncertain.
For ecample, in second set they had 12-10 and in the third set, they managed to catch up with the rivals after 4-8 and get 10-9. However, Poland regained initiative soon afterward and calmly closed the match toward victory which came in the same place in which they won the world title less than eight years ago, more precisely, 2,896 days later.
Kamil Semeniuk was great in serving as he scored 5 aces to add them to the match-high 16 points. Bartosz Kurek also contributed with mail 4 aces.
