Poland: Round 13 continues – 3 points for Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and Projekt Warszawa, temporarily to the top!

Round 13 of Poland’s 2023/24 PlusLiga continued today with other two games.
In the first one, Asseco Resovia triumphed over KGHM Cuprum Lubin in a 3-1 victory, while in the evening Projekt Warszawa dominated PSG Stal Nysa in a clear 3-0 sweep.
Resovia defeated their rivals, who suffered the 7th defeat in a row with set scores of 27:25, 25:17, 16:25, and 25:22, however the match was marked by intense competition, especially in the first set that ended in a narrow victory for visiting side.
The standout players for the winners were Stephen Boyer, who not only scored a remarkable 23 points but also earned the MVP title, supported by Jakub Kochanowski and Karol Kłos with 14 and 11 points respectively. KGHM Cuprum’s top scorers were Jake Hanes with 20 points and Kamil Kwasowski with 12.
In the second match of the day Projekt Warszawa displayed their dominance over PSG Stal Nysa with a clear straight sets win, partially 25:19, 25:15, and 25:22.
The team from country’s capital was led in score by a great Bartłomiej Bołądź, who scored 21 points and was named as MVP of the game, while Artur Szalpuk also contributed with 13 points to his name. PSG Stal’s top scorer was Remigiusz Kapica with 10 points.
With this win, Warszawa fly to the top of the standings with 35 points, at least for one night, waiting for the big match scheduled tomorrow at 2.45pm local time between No.3 Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (30 points, -3 behind Resovia) and No.2 Jastrzębski Węgiel (33).
