Playoffs of 2023/24 Powerfusion Austrian Volley League started today with first two games of Quarterfinals Game 1, that started with an upset, as No.6 in regular season UVC McDonald’s Ried won the first duel against No.3 Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel, prevailing 3-1 (34:32, 22:25, 25:15, 25:21) in their Raiffeisen Volleydome.
No.7 TJ Sokol V/Post SV Wien, in the second game, had to admit a clear defeat at home against No.2 TSV Raiffeisen Hartberg 0-3 (21:25, 17:25, 21:25) in front of their home fans. On Sunday evening, No.5 UVC Holding Graz and No.4 SK Zadruga Aich/Dob will face each other at 6.30 p.m. while, on February 25th, No.8 VCA Amstetten NÖ and defending champions HYPO TIROL volleyball team played their first playoff clash.
The decisions in the “Best-of-3” series will be made on the first weekend in March.
In relegation Round, Oberbank STEELVOLLEYS Linz-Steg defeated VC Hausmannstätten 3-0 (25:19, 26:24, 25:19), while tomorrow VBK Wörther-See-Löwen Klagenfurt will face UNIONvolleys Bisamberg-Hollabrunn.
