EuroVolley 2026: straight sets win for Belgium, Sweden and Slovakia in qualifiers

CEV Eurovolley 2026 continued today, on Wednesday, with other three games, all ended in straight sets.
In front of their home fans at SC Lange Munte Kortrijk, Belgium down Austria without major problems, 3-0 (25:19, 25:14, 25:21), to climb to the top of Pool B with 6 points (3 for today’s rivals, 0 for modest Azerbaijan).
Austria started strong only in first part of second, claiming a 5-8 lead, but then collapsed mostly thanks to a super performance of Sam Deroo, absolute top scorer of the game with 22 points (including 4 aces, 2 blocks and an impressive 70% in attack) and the rivals’ serves (11 aces).
In Pool E, another heavy defeat for Spain, relegated at last place in the standings with only one point, behind Switzerland and today’s rivals Sweden, both with 4 points.
Today, at Palacio Multiusos in Guadalajara, Sweden down them with a clean 0-3 (21:25, 20:25, 19:25), keeping a full control throughout the game while the same did Slovakia in Pool G.
At Nitra’s City Hall, they collected first win in Eurovolley qualifiers by beating modest Kosovo 3-0 (25:21, 25:14, 25:9) after just 1 hour and 10 minutes of play, with as many as 15 winning blocks (6 from Andrej Billich and 5 from Julius Firkal), and 15 points from top scorer Patrik Lamanec (65% in attack and 2 winning blocks).
Slovakia sit now at second place of Pool G standings, behind current leaders Latvia, to the top with 6 points.
First part of competition will close tomorrow with last three games.
The next ones with qualified teams in 2025!
