France: Tourcoing close Round 2 with a four sets win on the field of Sète

Round 2 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League as been closed today with the last game between Sète, who made their debut in French elite competion after a dayoff in first Round, and Tourcoing, ended in four sets in favor of the visiting side, 1-3 (19:25, 25:22, 26:28, 16:25).
After a tie break home victory in Round 1 against Chaumont, the winners confirmed themselves showing another very good performance at Béziers’ Palais des Sports, above all in an exciting and very balanced third set.
After that, the hosts collapsed, succumbing in decisive fourth one with a clear 16-25, deleting every attempt to re-open the game pushing it until tie break.
In a game with very similar numbers, and a lot of winning blocks (13 for the hosts, 12 for Tourcoing), the most prolific player of the match was Hugo De Leon Guimarães, who scored 23 points for Sète including 1 ace, 2 blocks and 57% in attack, one more of Tourcoing’s Pablo Koukartsev, who left the court with 22 points to his name through 50% in attack and 3 winning blocks.
This success pushes the winners at fourth place in the current standings and afrer two rounds played, behind current leaders Poitiers, with 6 points, and the same numbe of points, 5, of Montpellier and newcomers Cannes.
