Russia: Novosibirsk end Belgorod’s winning streak with commanding victory and the others of Round 11

Midweek Round 11 of Russian Superliga has been completed today with the clash between ASK Nizhny Novgorod and Dynamo Moscow, with the superfavorite team from country’s capital able to collect a hard-fought win with the score of 1-3 (21:25, 25:23, 24:26, 25:27), struggling more than expected.
On Tuesday, for the third time in ten days, Belogorie Belgorod and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk faced off, this time in a Russian Superliga clash in Tula. Novosibirsk took control, halting Belogorie’s winning streak and knocking them down from second place in the standings.
The first set was very balanced, with both teams trading points, but Lokomotiv’s Rajab Shakhbanmirzaev was unstoppable, leading his team to a decisive 25-23 finish.
In the second set, Belgorod briefly led, but Lokomotiv’s strategic substitutions, including Leal and Kostadinov, shifted momentum and, with a monster block and a critical ace from Kurkaev, Lokomotiv secured the set 25-17.
Belgorod attempted a comeback in the third set but ultimately fell short, and the rivals kept a steady lead, sealing the match at 25-22.
Top scorers included Rajabdibir Shakhbanmirzaev with 17 points for the winners, while Mohammed Al Hachdadi led Belgorod with 13 points.
