Champions League: Projekt Warszawa and Mint Vero Volley Monza open 4th week with 3 points

Another week of 2024/25 CEV Champions League Pool Stage started today with first two games.
PGE Projekt Warszawa sweeps ACH Volley Ljubljana 3-0 (25:23, 25:13, 25:17), while Vero Volley Monza secures a 3-1 victory over Fenerbahçe.
Polish powerhouse showed no signs of slowing down as they cruised to a dominant win over Slovenian champions. Warszawa, already at the top of Pool A, extended their unbeaten run to four matches, keeping their perfect record in the competition, led in score by Arthur Szalpuk, top scorer of the game with 16 points including 3 aces, 1 block and 71% in attack.
In another exciting clash, Italy’s MINT Vero Volley Monza claimed a good 3-1 victory (25:23, 25:21, 23:25, 25:20) against Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul from Turkey in front of their home fans at the Opiquad Arena.
The hosts started strong, overcoming early pressure from the rivals to win the opening set 25-23. The second set was equally intense, but Monza held their nerve, breaking away late to secure a 25-21 win.
Fenerbahçe bounced back in the third set, recovering from Monza’s fast start to edge the frame 25-23. However, the players around head coach Massimo Eccheli closed the game in fourth set and, with Arthur Szwarc (MVP of the match with 24 points with 3 aces, 2 blocks and an impressive 73% in attack) leading the charge, they close it out 25-20 to claim another crucial three points.
Ivan Zaytsev with 17 points and Thomas Beretta who added 10 points) also played key roles for Monza, who also celebrated fourth consecutive win that keeps them firmly at the top of Pool B.
