France: Tours destroy Saint Nazaire in advance of Round 20 and fly temporarily to the top!

Round 20 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League started today with the advance between titleholders Saint Nazaire, who are struggling a lot this season, currently at 11th place in the standings, and Tours, ended as predicted in straight sets in favor of the visiting side, 0-3 (13:25, 24:26, 16:25).
Struggling only in second set, the winners had no problems to prevail over the home team after 1 hour and 24 minutes of play, despite the absence of bomber Roland Gergye, on the bence, and led by a very good Julien Faganas, top scorer of the match with 17 points to his name through 67% in attack and 1 block.
Jordan Canham scored 11 points for the hosts with 2 aces, 1 block but only 30% in attack.
A result that is worth first place in the standings for Tours, at +2 from their closest pursuers Montpellier and Chaumont, at least temporarily, as the first one will face last-placed Plessis Robinson tomorrow, while Chaumont will welcome second-to-last Narbonne, who share position in the standings with Saint Nazaire, both with 17 points. Fourth-placed Tourcoing, on the other hand, will welcome No.5 Poitiers.
Also tomorrow, in the other two games that will close Round 20, No.8 Paris will welcome No.7 Nice, while Cannes will face Toulouse to keep their playoffs dream alive.
