France: Round 20 is over – 3 points for Paris, Cannes, Tourcoing, Chaumont and Montpellier

After the advance played yesterday, in which Tours trampled over Saint Nazaire, Round 20 of 2024/25 Marmara Spike League has been closed today with all the other 5 games.
Chaumont and Montpellier, both earning 3 points in ther respective games, share the top of the current standings with 39 points.
The first one down Narbonne in front of their home fans with the score of 3-0 (25:16, 31:29, 25:22), with a very good team performance in attack (61% to 40%), and with 15 points each from Mathis Henno and Pierre Toledo, closely followed by Jacob Pasteur and Lukas Maase, who also contributed with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Montpellier needed four sets to prevail over last-placed Plessis Robinson, 3-1 (24:26, 25:23, 25:18, 25:19). After first two hard-fought sets, the winners had no major problems, and were led in score by Tomas Lopez, who led the charge with an impressive 30 points through 53% in attack, 3 blocks and 2 aces.
Behind them in the charts Tourcoing with 38 points, after a clean 3-0 (25:17, 27:25, 25:19) win over Poitiers, with 16 points from bomber Pablo Koukartsev (54% in attack and 2 blocks), and 14 points from Ignacio Luengas (59% in attack and 1 ace).
3 points also for Paris, who down Nice by 3-1 (25:23, 25:21, 19:25, 25:20) with 11 aces and 24 points from Nik Mujanovic (3 aces, 56% in attack and 1 block), and for Cannes who, in front of their home fans, down Toulouse also in fours sets, 3-1 (25:20, 25:17, 16:25, 25:15), to keep their playoffs’ dream alive.
