Poland: Round 24 continues – 3 points for Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów and (former) last-placed GKS Katowice!

Round 24 of 2024/25 Plusliga or, if you prefer, Round 9 of second leg, continued today with other three games.
The day started with an easy win of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, who trampled over Trefl Gdańsk in a clean 3-0 (25:16, 25:19, 25:20), taking revenge for their earlier loss, securing a dominant win and strengthening their hold on second place in the standings, now at -2 from Jastrzębski Węgiel, who tomorrow will face PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów. The winners were led in score by Karol Butryn, who left the court with 13 points through 50% in attack, 1 block and 2 of his team’s 9 aces, while setter MVP Miguel Tavares earned MVP award.
Asseco Resovia dominated Indykpol AZS Olsztyn with a 3-0 (25:15, 25:22, 26:24) victory. The visitors had their chances but couldn’t maintain their lead, as Resovia controlled the net with a 12-1 block advantage, led by MVP Stephen Boyer, author of 14 points through 59% in attack and 1 ace, Bartosz Bednorz, who also contributed with the same number of points, and Lukas Vasina, who added 13.
In the evening, GKS Katowice defeated Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa 3-1 (25:22, 25:19, 22:25, 25:16) delivering probably their best performance of the season as, with this win, they moved off the bottom of the table, now second-to-last with the same number of points, 12, of Nowak-Mosty MKS Będzin.
Aymen Bouguerra led the charge with 23 points to his name through 64% in attack, 2 winning blocks and MVP award.
Round 24 will continue tomorrow with other two games: titleholders and current leaders Jastrzębski Węgiel will welcome PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów, while PSG Stal Nysa will face Ślepsk Malow Suwałki.
