MEVZA League: ACH Volley Ljubljana and HAOK Mladost Zagreb crowned 2025 Champions!

2024/25 MEVZA League finals delivered thrilling volleyball action at Dom Odbojke Bojan Stranić in Zagreb, Croatia, with ACH Volley Ljubljana and HAOK Mladost Zagreb claiming the titles in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
About men’s competition, Slovenia’s OK Maribor secured third place with a dominant 3-0 win over SK Zadruga Aich/Dob from Austria, 3-0 25:20, 25:21, 25:23), while ACH Volley Ljubljana claimed the championship with a commanding 3-0 victory against the hosts HAOK Mladost Zagreb (27:25, 25:17, 25:22).
For women, OK Dinamo Zagreb took bronze after a 3-1 win over OTP Banka Branik (24:26, 25:20, 25:15, 25:21), while HAOK Mladost Zagreb triumphed in a thrilling 3-2 final against OK Calcit Kamnik (25:20, 10:25, 25:19, 22:25, 19:17).
Captain Ana Ištuk reflected on HAOK Mladost’s hard-fought victory:
“It was a match full of ups and downs. After winning the first set, we got carried away by the euphoria, which led to some confusion, and we burned out in the second set. But we showed character, came back in the third set, and then stayed true to ourselves – rather than finishing it in the fourth, we played a fifth set, just like we have many times this season. And so far, we haven’t lost a single one.”
