Resovia down Tours at tie break in first leg of CEV Cup semifinals!

Semifinals of 2024/25 CEV Cup started today at RCWS Podpromie in Rzeszów, Poland, where the hosts Asseco Resovia needed five sets and a great team performance to prevail over Tours VB from France, 3-2 (23:25, 25:21, 22:25, 25:21, 15:10).
After two hours of play and some ups and downs in both sides, Stephen Boyer led the charge scoring 27 points for thw winners through 59% in attack, 3 aces and 1 winning block, well supported by Bartosz Bednorz, who also contributed with 23 and a very good Klemen Cebulj, also in double digit with 17 points through 68% in attack and 2 blocks.
They canceled the amazing performance of Ryan Sclater, who scored as many as 31 points on the other side of the net, with 2 winning blocks and 57% in attack.
Second leg in France next week, on Wednesday March 19, 2025.
Tomorrow, in the other semifinal, Italian powerhouse Trentino Itas will welcome Efelerligi leaders Ziraat Bank Ankara from Turkey.
