Poland: ZAKSA stun Lublin, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie ends Resovia’s winning streak in quarterfinals Game 1

In an exciting start of 2024/25 PlusLiga quarterfinals, ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle powered past No.4 Bogdanka LUK Lublin 1-3 (25:23, 17:25, 20:25, 19:25), bouncing back after losing the first set.
ZAKSA, fifth-placed in regular season, under the guidance on italian expert Andrea Giani, showed composure and dominance in the other three sets, led by Bartosz Kurek, well-deserved named MVP of the match with 22 points to his name through 60% in attack, 2 aces and 2 blocks.
Meanwhile, third-placed Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie down No.6 Asseco Resovia Rzeszów with a 3-1 (25:21, 25:18, 21:25, 25:21) victory, putting an end to the rivals’ impressive 17-match winning streak, led by MVP Bartosz Kwolek, who left the court with 18 points to his name through 50% in attack, 1 ace and 2 blocks, well supported by Aaron Russell and Karol Butryn, who added 16 and 15 points, respectively. Despite Resovia’s superiority in blocking (9–4), the winners proved more efficient in attack and also from the service line with 6 aces.
