Russia: Zenit-Kazan secure 13th title in style. Zenit St. Petersburg defeated also in Game 3!

They did it!
Zenit-Kazan clinched their 13th Russian Championship title by sweeping Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2024/25 PARI SuperLiga best-of-five playoff final, winning the series without dropping a single match!

The final showdown concluded today in Saint Petersburg, where they side defeated their namesake rivals 0-3 (21:25, 16:25, 15:25) in decisive Game 3.
Prior to that, they dominated the first two matches in Kazan, winning 3–0 and 3–2, respectively.
Despite an impressive regular season with only one loss against Fakel Novy Urengoy, some volleyball fans questioned Zenit-Kazan’s ability to clinch the title, also due losing two previous finals to Dynamo Moscow.
However, with head coach Alexey Verbov at the helm, they silenced doubters with an impressive path in the playoffs, winning every match and almost every set until the gran finale.
Coach Verbov praised his team’s focus and consistency, while Zenit Saint Petersburg’s coach Vladimir Alekno, acknowledged the rivals’ superiority but emphasized the growth and unity of his own team.

On Friday, in Game 2 for third place, Belogorie Belgorod down Dynamo-LO again, 3-1 (25:13, 23:25, 25:22, 25:21), to take 2-0 lead in best-of-five series.
