Poland: Lublin sweep Aluron in Game 1 of final! Warszawa stun Jastrzębski in first clash for 3rd Place

2024/25 PlusLiga Final and third-place matches kicked off with clear wins for both the visiting sides, with Bogdanka LUK Lublin and PGE Projekt Warszawa who swept their rivals in just three sets, taking an early control in their best-of-five series.

Penalized by the injury of bomber Karol Butryn, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie fell 0-3 to Bogdanka LUK Lublin (21:25, 22:25, 21:25).
Mikołaj Sawicki led the charge with 20 points to his name through 65% in attack, 2 blocks and 3 aces, as well as MVP honors, supported by Kewin Sasak and Wilfredo Leon who added 13 points each.
The winners dominated in attack (58% to 43% in attack) serves (9 aces to 5), and blocks (8 to 5), starting the finals strong ahead of Game 2 on May 3 in Lublin.

PGE Projekt Warszawa also played an impressive game, defeating regular season winners and titleholders JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel 0-3 (22:25, 22:25, 21:25) in the battle for third place.
In front of almost 3000 home fans, MVP Linus Weber left the court with 15 points to his name and 3 aces, with his team that controlled the game above all with an aggressive performance from the service line (15 aces), solid blocking, and fewer errors.
Game 2 is set for May 4 at Torwar Arena in Warsaw.
