Brazil: Sada Cruzeiro down Vôlei Renata to win their 9th Superliga title!

2 min read

In front of a hot crowd at Ginásio do Ibirapuera, Sada Cruzeiro staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Vôlei Renata 3-1 clinching their ninth Superliga title in a record that cements their supremacy in Brazilian volleyball.
After dropping the first set 18-25, the winners found their rhythm and stormed back winning next three sets (25:23, 25:23, 25:21).
This latest triumph wraps up an amazing 2024/25 season that saw them lift all the five major trophies: Campeonato Mineiro, Supercopa, South American Championship, the Club World Championship, and now, even Superliga!
Veteran middle blocker Lucas Saatkamp, at 39 years old, was the heart of the team, named MVP of both the final and the season, leaving the court today with 14 points to his name and an almost unstoppable offensive play.
Despite a fiery start from Vôlei Renata, led by middle blocker Judson Nunes and opposite Bruno Lima, the Campinas squad couldn’t hold off Sada Cruzeiro’s momentum, and this was a revenge for them, who had lost to Renata earlier in the season!
With this success, they closes the season in a perfect way, proving once again who is the team to beat in Brazilian volleyball!
