Champions League: Guaguas Las Palmas celebrate a 3-1 win over Olympiacos in Rentis!

In a game that closed first leg of 2025/26 CEV Champions League second leg, Guaguas Las Palmas showed a stunning performance on the road after beating Olympiacos Piraeus with the score of 1-3 (20:25, 25:18, 18:25, 24:26) at the Melina Merkouri Arena on Thursday to take control of their path in Europe elite club competition.
The hosts started strong with Christian Fromm and a conspicuous 17–14 lead, but Las Palmas reacted, leveled the score at 20–20, and snatched the opener 25–20. Olympiacos hit back to sweep the second set 25–18 and, despite the match tightened in a thrilling third set, the team from Spain punished errors to close it with a clear 25–18.
An amazing fourth and decisive set followed, with Olympiacos that earned a 16–13 lead and later also 24–22, but the visitors erased both set points and a crucial challenge at 24–24 made the difference, with Las Palmas that closed it 26–24 to seal the game.
Osmany Juantorena led the charge, earning MVP with 20 points including an ace and two blocks, while Christian Fromm, Gord Perrin, and Mitar Đurić led flashes of resistance for Olympiacos.
The series now shifts to the Canary Islands, where Olympiacos must chase a clean win and the golden set to overturn the situation.
