Poland: Olsztyn victorious at home Asseco Resovia end Projekt Warszawa’s streak in advances of Round 4

Round 4 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with first two games.
The day started with Indykpol AZS Olsztyn who down Energa Trefl Gdańsk with the score of 3-1 (21:25, 25:23, 25:21, 25:21).
In front of these home fans, the winners came from behind after losing the opening set but then they found their rhythm and took control. Moritz Karlitzek was unstoppable, earning MVP honors with 22 points to his name and an impressive seven aces, while Jan Hadrava with 16 and Paweł Halaba with 11 also contributed to Olsztyn’s third win of the season.
In the evening in Warsaw, PGE Projekt Warszawa suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 0-3 (22:25, 22:25, 24:26) to Asseco Resovia Rzeszów.
Both teams entered the match as unbeaten, but the visiting side showed greater consistency and power in attack. MVP Artur Szalpuk led the charge with 15 points through 56% in attack, while Danny Demyanenko also contributed with 11. For Warszawa, Bartosz Bednorz scored 16 and Kevin Tillie 10, but it wasn’t enough to snatch at least one set.
Round 4 will continue tomorrow with other two games: ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle will welcome JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel while, in the evening, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm.
