Poland: Bełchatów stun Lublin, Częstochowa celebrates first win on Sunday games of Round 4

Round 4 of 2025/26 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
Bogdanka LUK Lublin suffered their first loss of the season, falling 1-3 (20:25, 24:26, 25:19, 26:28) to PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów. Just a few days after lifting a historical Super Cup, they couldn’t keep their winning momentum and were surprised at home by a determined rivals.
Wilfredo Leon led the home side with 20 points, while Jackson Young added 12 and Mateusz Malinowski 10, but they weren’t enough. For the winners, Daniel Chitigoi scored 18 points, Antoine Pothron 15, and both Bartłomiej Lemański, MVP of the match, and Arkadiusz Żakieta also contributed with 13 each.
The champions fought hard but couldn’t stop Bełchatów’s momentum, losing in four sets.
In other game of the day, Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa finally broke their losing streak, defeating Ślepsk Malow Suwałki 3–2 in a dramatic five-set thriller (25:18, 23:25, 25:21, 20:25, 15:12). Patrik Indra was the top scorer for the winners with 24 points to his name, supported by Jakub Kiedos with 16 and Milad Ebadipour with 14.
On the other side of the net, Bartosz Filipiak scored 21 points and Asparuh Asparuhov 18.
Despite numerous serve errors from both teams, veteran setter Luciano De Cecco led Częstochowa to victory and earned the MVP honors.
Round 4 will close on Tuesday, December 2 with the last clash between Barkom Każany Lwów and Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
