France: Tours win sixth Super Cup in a thriller tie break against Tourcoing (and Coach Mladen Kasic resigns right after)!

What a night in Tours!
Home team and French Champions Tours Volley-Ball claimed the 2025 Super Cup after a wild five-set battle against Coupe de France winners Tourcoing (18:25, 25:19, 25:16, 24:26, 19:17).
For the winners, this is a familiar story: eight-time finalists in thirteen editions since 2004, and five-time winners of the competition, at least prior to this game, the last title in 2023.

And today they were led once again by bomber Nik Mujanovic, author of 24 points through 52% in attack and 1 of his team’s 12 winning blocks (7 for Tourcoing), while Guilherme Voss earned MVP honors with 14 through 77% in attack and 4 blocks.
Anton Venislav tallied 25 points on the other side of the net including 1 ace, 2 blocks and 48% in attack.

However, moments after the victory, head coach Mladen Kasic stunned everyone by announcing his departure, after only joining the club in June.

“It’s a personal decision, and we have to respect it,” said captain Zeljko Coric, who sealed the win with a final ace at 19-17.

The 67-year-old Croatian expert exit reportedly followed disagreements with the staff. His replacement, likely a former player familiar with the French league, is expected soon.
Despite the shock, Tours celebrates sixth Super Cup and 29th title overall, proving once again why the club remains a powerhouse in French volleyball.
