Poland: Round 8 continues with tie break successes of PGE Projekt Warszawa and Cuprum Stilon Gorzów

After two advances played yesterday, won by PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Round 8 of 2025/26 Plusliga continued today with other two games.
PGE Projekt Warszawa edged Indykpol AZS Olsztyn 3-2 (30:28, 25:19, 23:25, 22:25, 15:9) in an exciting game, overcoming a strong comeback to snatch their sixth win of the season.
The team from country’s capital claimed the first two sets 30–28 and 25–19, but the rivals managed to level the match, despite Warszawa closed out the tie-break with a clean 15–9 to secure the victory. MVP Jakub Kochanowski led the charge with 22 points to his name, while Linus Weber left the court as most prolific player with 26.
Jan Hadrava tallied 24 points on the other side of the net.
In the evening, Cuprum Stilon Gorzów also turn tables to celebrate first seasonal win!
Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa suffered a heavy 2-3 (25:21, 25:21, 23:25, 18:25, 13:15) loss despite winning the first two sets.
Gorzów looked shaky at the start of the game, but they fought back with confidence, taking advantage from the momentum, finally moving off the bottom of the standings. Meanwhile, the struggling Częstochowa side is still waiting for a new head coach after dismissing Guillermo Falasca.
Patrik Indra topped the scoring with 27 points for Częstochowa, followed by Jakub Kiedos with 13, Milad Ebadipour and Jakub Nowak with 11 each and Daniel Popiela with 10. For the winners, decisive performances came from Mathis Henno, who scored 20 points, closely followed by Kamil Kwasowski who added 18 and Chizoba Neves Atu, with 17. The visitors were clearly better in blocking and made fewer errors, 25 compared to Częstochowa’s costly 34.
MVP Mateusz Maciejewicz gave a strong boost off the bench, leading Gorzów through their remarkable comeback.
Round 9 will continue next week on Tuesday, december 2 with the clash between newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, while on Friday, Chełm will welcome Barkom Każany Lwów in advance of Round 9.
