Italy: Trento sweep Milano in front of a record crowd. Civitanova, Verona, Modena and Perugia victorious in Round 8

3 min read

After the advance played yesterday, in which Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza won in straight sets on the field of Vero Volley Monza, Round 8 of 2025/26 SuperLega CredemBanca has been completed today.
Its highlight came in Unipol Forum, with 7,635 spectators filled the venue to see Itas Trentino dominate Allianz Milano in a clean 0-3 (24:26, 16:25, 21:25) sweep. After a hard-fought first set, the defending champions showed class and control, with Alessandro Michieletto, Jordi Ramon, and Flavio Gualberto leading a great display that silenced the home crowd with 13, 12 and 10 points, respectively.
In Civitanova, Cucine Lube found again their rhythm, crushing newcomers MA Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo 3-0 (25:20, 25:13, 25:18) in just over an hour. The home side dominated from the serve line with as many as 13 aces, and Eric Loeppky earned MVP honors with 14 points to his name, while Mattia Bottolo fired seven aces in a brilliant performance, scoring 15 points like his teammate Aleksandar Nikolov.
The regional derby between Sonepar Padova and Rana Verona lived up to expectations, as Verona battled hard for a 1-3 (24:26, 26:24, 22:25, 25:27) win, fueled by a 28 points from Noumory Keita, including five aces.
At PalaBarton, Sir Susa Scai Perugia continued their perfect home run, defeating Cisterna Volley 3-0 (25:18, 25:23, 25:20) without major problems with 22 points from Wassim Ben Tara, while Valsa Group Modena also grabbed all three points, after a 3-1 (25:18, 21:25, 25:18, 25:18) win over Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. Vlad Davyskiba and Paul Buchegger led the charge for the hosts, scoring 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Superlega will continue on Wednesday with midweek Round 9.
