Italy: Milano down Cuneo to close Round 9 with 3 points

Midweek Round 9 of 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca has been completed today with the clash between newcomers Acqua S.Bernardo Cuneo and Allianz Milano, ended in four sets in favor of the visiting side, that move into a tie for sixth place in the standings, shared with Valsa Group Modena, defeated yesterday on the field of Itas Trentino.
Milano controlled the opening two sets, easily winning 25–16 and 25–15 without major problems before Cuneo responded with a 25–22 win in the third one. However, Milano regained momentum in the fourth, taking the set 25–17 to secure the match.
Belgian opposite Ferre Reggers led again Milano with 21 points to his name and MVP honors, while Tatsunori Otsuka added 15 and Francesco Recine 14.
Cuneo’s top scorers were Nathan Feral with 16 points and Ivan Zaytsev with 12,
The winners finished the match with a 55% attack efficiency and 13 blocks, compared with Cuneo’s 41% and five blocks. The match lasted 1 hour, 44 minutes and was played in front of 2,349 volleyball fans.

Reggers said the team expected a difficult road match in Cuneo.
“We started aggressively, lost some focus in the third set, but closed the fourth set well,” he said.

Milano returns to the court on Sunday against current leaders Perugia, while Cuneo hosts runners-up Verona on the same day.
Superlega will continue on Saturday with the advance of Round 10 between Valsa Group Modena and Cucine Lube Civitanova, who
