Poland: Bełchatów and Jastrzębski won advances of Round 12

After an early advance played in November, in which Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie sweep Cuprum Stilon Gorzów on the road, Round 12 of 2025/26 Plusliga continues today with other two games.
In the first one, after losing a hard-fought first set, PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów quickly regrouped to defeat Ślepsk Malow Suwałki by 3-1 (25:27, 25:14, 25:21, 25:16) withouth problems, recording their ninth win of the season.
The visiting side claimed the opening set before Bełchatów took control with stronger attacking efficiency and blocking. Daniel Chitigoi led the winners with 17 points to his name, while Henrique Honorato scored 20 for Suwałki. Setter Grzegorz Łomacz was awarded MVP.
In another Round 12 game, JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel took the first two sets before Energa Trefl Gdańsk extended the match by winning the third one.
The hosts closed out the contest in a tight fourth set to remain in contention for a top-six finish in the first phase of the season after a 3-1 (25:23, 25:18, 23:25, 25:23) win. Łukasz Kaczmarek scored 17 points for the winners, with Anton Brehme also contributed with 13. The visiting side was led by Aliaksei Nasevich with 21 points and Tobias Brand with 19, while setter Benjamin Toniutti was named most valuable player.
Round 12 will continue tomorrow with last-placed Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa that will hosts ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
