France: Round 12 continues. Tourcoing to the top! 2 points also for Poitiers, Chaumont and St.Nazaire, 3 for Nice

Volleyball Saturday started with a convincing 3-1 (20:25, 25:23, 25:18, 25:17) win of Nice over a Montpellier penalized by several absences.

Montpellier started strong the game with three winning blocks in a row, than closing first set without major problems. However the hosts reacted and, after taking a thrilling second set, managed to win the game without major problems with 14 winning blocks, 13 points from top scorer Dawid Dulski, and 6 including 3 blocks for Colin Castelnau, who started from the bench and earned MVP honors.
With this result Montpellier, league leaders prior this game, slip to second place at -1 from Tourcoing, who needed five sets to prevail over a very combative Cannes, above all after wasting a 12-16 lead in second set and losing also the second one with a 25-16 sweep, 3-2 (25:23, 25:16, 23:25, 18:25, 15:8). Ignacios Luengas and Venislav Antov top-scored the winners with 22 and 20 points respectively, while Xander Ketrzysnki scored 23 points for the losing side.
Also the other games ended at tie break: after a disastrous start in the league, Chaumont, now at 12th place, down Toulouse by 3-2 (25:15, 26:28, 25:23, 26:28, 15:13) with 31 points from Jacob Pasteur (56% in attack with 1 ace and 1 block), and 24 from Pierre Toledo.
Chaumont share second-to-last place in the standings with 12 points together with newcomers Ajaccio, defeated at home with the score of 2-3 (27:25, 22:25, 23:25, 25:18, 15:17) by Poitiers, despite 36 points from Daniel Martins de Pinho (63% in attack and 3 aces).
Close the picture a very important win of last-placed St-Nazaire (9 points in the standings) on the field of Narbonne, 2-3 (25:23, 30:32, 15:25, 25:29, 18:29), with 16 winning blocks and a great performance from Filip John, who left the court with 28 points to his name through 63% in attack, 1 ace and 3 blocks.
Round 12 will close tomorrow with the game between Sète and Tours.
