Poland: Olsztyn down Barkom at tie break in advance of Round 16

Round 16 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with the clash between Indykpol AZS Olsztyn and Barkom Każany Lwów, ended at tie break in favor of the home side 3-2 (25:19, 22:25, 25:14, 23:25, 20:18), which secured its fourth straight victory.
Olsztyn took the first set 25–19, dropped the second, and take the lead again with a convincing third set. Barkom, however, forced a fifth, but the hosts held on in a hard-fought tiebreak, winning 20–18.
Setter Johannes Tille was named the match MVP after guiding Olsztyn’s attack throughout the contest, while Paweł Halaba led the charge with 25 points to his name through 48% in attack, 1 block and 4 of his team’s 11 aces. Strong support also came from Moritz Karlitzek and Jan Hadrava, who added 20 each, while Ilia Kovalov tallied 19 on the other side of the net.
Round 16 will continue on Friday with the clash between Energa Trefl Gdańsk and Ślepsk Malow Suwałki.
