France: Saint Nazaire announces departure of opposite Anthony Cherfan. He will join UPCN Vóley Club

2 min read

Saint-Nazaire and Anthony Cherfan have decided to end their collaboration. Having played little since the start of the ongoing season, the 24-year-old American opposite is preparing to continue his career in Argentina.

The club, currently second-to-last in Marmara SpikeLigue, announced this Tuesday part ways with the player by mutually agreement, and he confirmed that his departure was primarily a personal decision, motivated by a lack of playing opportunities in Saint-Nazaire, but also by a more attractive financial offer in Argentina.
The American opposite will join UPCN Vóley Club, currently second in the Argentinian league, just behind Ciudad Vóley, and this marks a new chapter in his career, where he is expected to be in the starting six until the end of the season.
However, he hasn’t ruled out a return to France in the future, with the aim of securing more playing time.
Either way, Saint Nazaire will now rely on Filip John, as well as Yusniel Martí, who recently joined the club last weekend when the situation required it.
