Poland: Round 19 continues – Resovia stun defending Champions, Projekt Warszawa reclaim the lead

After two advances played on Friday, in which InPost ChKS Chełm and Barkom Każany Lwów celebrated very important victories, and a great straight sets win of Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie over Jastrzębski Węgiel , Round 19 of 2025/26 Plusliga continued today with other three games, bringing dramatic five-set battles and a change at the top of the standings.
In Rzeszów, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów once again proved all their strong, edging reigning champions Bogdanka LUK Lublin 3–2 (20:25, 25:18, 25:21, 22:25, 15:8) after a tense tie-break. Artur Szalpuk with 28 points was the man of the match, delivering an amazing performance to earn MVP honors.
The loss ended Lublin’s stay at the top of the table as the leadership honor was quickly picked up by PGE Projekt Warszawa, who returned to first place with a convincing away victory over Energa Trefl Gdańsk. Bartosz Bednorz with 21 points led the way for the team from country’s capital, combining powerful attacking with solid all-around play in a straight-sets win, 0-3 (32:34, 21:25, 21:25).
In the evening, fans in Olsztyn were treated to one of the most intense matches of the season as their Indykpol AZS Olsztyn outlasted Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa 3–2 (23:25, 25:23, 25:21, 30:32, 20:18).
The contest featured long rallies, momentum swings, a marathon tie-break, and moments of high-level volleyball, with the hosts finally sealed the game 20–18. Jan Hadrava with 26 points to his name led the charge in the dramatic victory.
Round 19 will close tomorrow with the clash between Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Cuprum Stilon Gorzów.
