Poland: Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie back to the top after sweeping Częstochowa in a delayed match of Round 16

Fragmented Round 16 of 2025/26 Plusliga, started on January 6 with a tie break win of Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, has been completed today with the clash between last-placed Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, ended as predicted with a clean 0-3 (22:25, 19:25, 21:25) sweep in favor of the visitors, who returned to first place in the standings.
The winners controlled the encounter from start to finish, keeping them firmly in the title race as the season progresses.
Outside hitter Aaron Russell led all scorers with 19 points and earned MVP honors, while Bartłomiej Bołądź also contributed 15. For the hosts, Patrik Indra topped the scoring with 16 points to his name.
Plusliga will continue already tomorrow with the advance of Round 20 between newcomers InPost ChKS Chełm and most quoted JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel, this season only at 7th place in the standings.
