CEV Cup: Poitiers, Maaseik and Piacenza first quarterfinalists!

First verdicts also in 2025/26 CEV Cup in which three teams earned their tickets for quarterfinals.
All easy for France’s Alterna SPVB Poitiers who, after a great win in Germany in first leg, sweep VfB Friedrichshafen with a clean 3-0 (25:14, 25:18, 25:21) with 13 points from MVP Thomas Pujol (87% in attack, 60% positive receptions).
In quarterfinals they’ll face another german Team, SVG Lüneburg.
Meanwhile, Italy’s Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza eliminated JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel from Poland winning the second leg game by 3-1 (25:20, 25:18, 18:25, 25:22) and, to progress to quarterfinals, they needed two sets too after a win with the same result in Poland, a week ago. Henry Léon played an excellent game with 15 points through 65% in attack, 1 ace and 1 block.
Four sets win also for Belgium’s Greenyard Maaseik, who eliminated ČEZ Karlovarsko from Czech Republic, 3-1 (25:23, 25:22, 26:28, 25:19), despite a tie break loss in first leg.
Tomorrow Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul will welcome The Netherlands’ Orion Stars Doetinchem in Türkiye.
