Poland: predictions respected in advance of Round 26 – ZAKSA down Częstochowa in four sets

Round 26 of 2025/26 Plusliga started today with the advance between ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and last-placed Steam Hemarpol Politechnika Częstochowa, ended in four sets in favor of the home side, 3-1 (25:21, 25:21, 23:25, 25:22), boosting their chances in the race for the playoffs.
The home side took control early, winning the first two sets 25–21 and 25–21. Częstochowa, however, responded by taking the third set 23–25, but ZAKSA sealed the win in the fourth with a 25–22 finish.
Jakub Szymański led the scoring for the winners with 24 points to his name and earned MVP honors with 58% efficiency), four aces and one block, while Kamil Rychlicki added 22 points.
For Częstochowa, Patrik Indra scored 19 points, Milad Ebadipour added 18, and Jakub Kiedos finished with 11.
With the win, ZAKSA moves to 33 points and sits ninth in the PlusLiga standings, level with JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel and PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów, though having played more matches. Częstochowa remains to the bottom with 16 points, seven behind InPost ChKS Chełm and Barkom Każany Lwów with only three matches left.
Round 26 will continue tomorrow with other three games: Ślepsk Malow Suwałki will welcome PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów, current leaders Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will face Cuprum Stilon Gorzów while, in the evening, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will welcome Barkom Każany Lwów.
