Champions League: also Warszawa and Perugia to Final 4! Lublin and Las Palmas say goodbye to the competition

After Turkish powerhouse Ziraat Bankkart Ankara, victorious two times i. straight sets over Poland’s Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, other two teams claimed today their tickets for Turin’s Final four, PGE Projekt Warszawa and Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia.
Thanks to a four sets home win in all polish derby against Bogdanka LUK Lublin, Warzawa needed two sets to progress to the next stage of the competition, and they did it on the road, winning 21-25 and 18-25 first two sets in Lublin, and then to suffers the hosts’ irrilevant comeback, until the decisive 3-2 (21:25, 18:25, 25:22, 32:30, 15:12).
In Semifinal, Warszawa will face defending champions Perugia who, despite a tie break hard-fought game in Spain, celebrated a straight sets win today in front of their home fans, 3-0 (25:18, 25:21, 25:23).
MVP Oleh Plotnytskyi (67% in attack and 1 ace) and Wassim Ben Tara (45% in attack and 4 blocks) top-scored the winners with 13 points each, closely followed by Kamil Semeniuk, who added 12 (62% in attack and 2 aces), while Osmany Juantorena also scored 13 points for the Spanish side (all in attack, 54% efficiency).
Tomorrow Polish powerhouse Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie will welcome Perugia’s compatriots Cucine Lube Civitanova after a majestic straight sets win in Italy in first leg in a game that will decide last semifinalist, who will face Ziraat in Turin.
