After the advance between PGE GiEK SKRA Bełchatów and GKS Katowice, Round 5 of 2026/27 Tauron Liga continued today with other two games.
Saturday’s action delivered two hard-fought five-set encounters, with ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Podziemia Kredowe ChKS Chełm emerging victorious after dramatic battles on the road and at home, respectively.

In Gorzów, ZAKSA edged Stilon Gorzów 3–2 (18:25, 27:25, 20:25, 28:26, 18:16) in a match that kept both teams under pressure until the very last point. Gorzów made an impressive start, taking the opening set 25–18, but ZAKSA responded by narrowly winning the second 27–25. The hosts regained the advantage in the third set, putting themselves within reach of victory.
The fourth set proved pivotal. Gorzów had opportunities to close out the match, but ZAKSA held firm, winning 28–26 to force a tie-break. The decisive set was equally tense, with Gorzów building a 14–11 lead and moving within one point of victory. ZAKSA refused to surrender, clawing its way back before finally sealing the match 18–16. Remigiusz Kapica was named MVP after an outstanding performance, scoring 27 points, while Dawid Siwczyk made a significant contribution at the net with eight blocking points.
The result represents an important away victory for ZAKSA, who demonstrated resilience and composure under pressure, while Stilon will be left to reflect on missed opportunities in both the fourth set and the tie-break.

In Chełm, Podziemia Kredowe ChKS Chełm secured a 3–2 victory over NEONET Norwid Częstochowa (16:25, 25:21, 22:25, 25:18, 15:10). The visitors started strongly, dominating the opening set 25–16, but the home side quickly responded to level the match. Norwid regained the lead in the third set, leaving Chełm with another difficult task.
The hosts, however, showed determination and improved their level in the closing stages. Chełm claimed the fourth set 25–18 to send the match to a tie-break, where they took full control, winning 15–10 and completing another valuable victory.
The win marks a further positive step for ChKS Chełm, who had already secured their first league victory in the previous round against Jastrzębski Węgiel’s opponents from Barkom Każany Lwów. For Norwid Częstochowa, the defeat adds to a difficult start to the campaign, with the team still searching for greater consistency.

Both matches once again highlighted the competitive nature of the Polish championship, where the difference between victory and defeat can come down to a handful of decisive points. ZAKSA’s dramatic comeback in Gorzów and Chełm’s determined response at home provided two compelling examples of the resilience required to succeed in the TAURON Liga.

Round 5 will continue tomorrow with other three games: Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will welcome defending champions Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki will face Energa Trefl Gdańsk while, in the evening, Jastrzębie Barkom will welcome PGE Projekt Warszawa.
