Poland: Projekt Warszawa edge Ślepsk Malow Suwałki in another five-set battle to close Round 4 (so far)

PGE Projekt Warszawa and Ślepsk Malow Suwałki delivered another closely contested encounter in 2026/27 TAURON Liga, with the capital side eventually claiming a 3–2 victory (20:25, 25:20, 25:21, 18:25, 15:7) in Thursday’s Round 4 fixture.

Suwałki made the better start, taking the opening set 25–20 and putting the hosts under early pressure. Warszawa responded in the second, levelling the match with the same score before moving ahead by winning the third set 25–21.
The visitors refused to go away, however. Suwałki regained control in the fourth set, winning it 25–18 to force a tie-break and keep their hopes of an away victory alive.
The deciding set proved a very different story. Warszawa quickly took command and left little room for a comeback, racing to a convincing 15–7 finish to seal the match after more than two hours of fluctuating momentum.
The result gives Warszawa two points and takes its season tally to nine, while Suwałki adds one point to its total, moving to six. For the Warsaw side, the victory provides a welcome response after a demanding start to the campaign; for Suwałki, it is another five-set contest that brings a reward, but also leaves the team looking for a way to turn competitive performances into more victories.
Libero Damian Wojtaszek earned MVP honors, while the Red Bull Super Ace award was presented to Romanò for his 122 km/h serve. Yuri Romanò himself and Bartłomiej Lemański led the charge with 20 and 13 points, respectively.
However, Bartosz Filipiak was undoubtedly the best player of the match, finishing with as many as 32 points for Suwałki, a 57% attack success rate and 39% attack efficiency, six aces against just five errors, one block and one soft block, as well as an impressive 12 digs.

Round 4 will continue next week, on Tuesday, November 10 with the clash between GKS Katowice and Podziemia Kredowe ChKS Chełm while, on Saturday, Tauron Liga will continue with other two games valid for Round 5: Stilon Gorzów will welcome ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, while Podziemia Kredowe ChKS Chełm will face NEONET Norwid Częstochowa.
