Italy: Modena down Civitanova in advance of Round 10!

Round 10 of 2025/26 Superlega CredemBanca started today with a great Valsa Group Modena who inflicted to Cucine Lube Civitanova second straight defeat in a row after the one against Monza in previous Round, 3-1 (25:23, 26:24, 20:25, 25:11), in front of 3500 home fans at PalaPanini.
With this success, and waiting for the others, today’s winners fly temporarily to fourth place in the standings with 19 points , surpassing Piacenza, at fifth place with 18, tomorrow on the field of Cisterna Volley, and Civitanova, still searching for first seasonal away win after 5 losses!
First two sets were hard-fought, won by the hosts in final phases, with a comeback from 22-24 in second one until the 26-24 thanks to 3 winning blocks from Pardo Mati. Despite Civitanova won third set, Modena regrouped and closed the game with 15 winning blocks, led by MVP Giovanni Sanguinetti (14 points and 6 aces). Double digit also for Vlad Davyskiba, who added 15, Paul Buchegger and Luca Porro, who also contributed with 10 each. Aleksandar Nikolov left the court as top scorer with 20 points to his name, supported by Eric Loeppky who added 14, but they were not enough.
