GOLDEN EUROPEAN LEAGUE: DAY 6. PORTUGAL, TURKEY, CZECH REPUBLIC AND ESTONIA TO THE FINAL FOUR.

In the Pool A, Estonia joined Turkey and Czech Republic (organizators) into the Final Four of the 2018 Volleyball Golden European League in Kalovy Vary on June 13 and 14. With the undisputed victory against Slovakia (25-14, 25-15, 25-20) at home, in Rakvere, the Estonians become unreachable at the top of the final standings of the Pool A. Also in this match, Robert TƤht was the best scorer of the match with 17 points and an excellent 74% attack.

In the same pool, Sweden won against the home team Belgium with the same result, 3:0, with following points: 22:25, 15-25, 18:25. Knowing the other result of the Pool, obviusely this not have had an influence on the ranking, and Belgium finished at the 2nd place. The Swedish team with an excellent efficiency of its opposite Gustavsson (86% attack) and six blocks (against one block for Belgium) won deservedely the match, and thanks to this win Sweden took 3rd place in Pool A. Fredrik Gustavsson (SWE) was the best scorer of the match with 18 points, and Sam Deroo was a top scorer of Belgium with only 9 points

In the Pool B Ukraine won against Turkey 3-2, and these are the results: 31-29, 23-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-11. The top scorer of the match was the Turkish Adis Lagumdzija with 31 points and 53% in attack.

In the other match, played in Maribor, Slovenia, Netherlands won 3:1 with following results: 19-25, 23-25, 25-23, 14-25. The Netherland’s captain Nimir Abdel-Aziz led his team to the fourth victory, and also in this match was the top scorer with 37 points, absolut the best in the League Round.

In the Pool CPortugal won 3:1 against Czech Republic, that played a good match only in the 1st set. 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-19 are the scores. In the Pool C Portugal won 3:1 against Czech Republic, that played a good match only in the 1st set. 19-25, 27-25, 25-21, 25-19 are the scores. The team from Czech Republic started strong also in the second set but, probably with a wrong management, could not won it, and Alexandre Ferreira in attack and Jose Pedro Monteiro with two aces in a row to finish the set makes the difference and Portugal won 27-25. With this victory, Portugal can play deservedly the final four. The top scorer of the match was Jan Hadrava with 21 points, for Czech Republic, and now both teams will play the Final Four, deservedly the Portugal, because it’s the first ranked in Pool C, and Czech Republic like team organizator.

And in Soria, Spain won against Finland 3:1 with this results: 31:29, 25:22, 19:25, 25-18. With this match, Spain avoided the last ranked position in pool C with the victory of two sets. The spanish opposite AndrƩs Villena with 24 points and 2 aces was the top scorer of the match.
