Lube Civitanova is the winner of Italian derby in the Champions League, Berlin also victorious!

Really an excellent start for Cucine Lube Civitanova in the 2019 Champions League: in fact they beat Azimut Leo Shoes Modena in straight sets in front of 4000 spectators!
This was the third match between the two teams this season, Modena won the match for the Italian Super Cup and Lube won the Italian SuperLega match at tie break, and now CEV Volleyball Champions League match.
It was a hard battle in the field, and Lube come out as the winner in the decisive moments of each set.
Osmany Juantorena was the best scorer of the game with 19 points, Yoandy Leal added 13 points, while Ivan Zaytsev scored 16 for Modena.

Giampaolo Medei, Cucine Lube Civitanova: ā€œI am so satisfied with this result, because we are in a very strong pool and it was very important to start our quest in the competition with a victory in the Italian derby, played in front of four thousand Lube supporters. Technically, we played good volleyball. I am very confident that we will grow further.”

Micah Christenson, Azimut Leo Shoes Modena: “Our opponents played very well in serving and spiking. We did our best, but for sure we can do better, and we must do it in the next games of the competition. We lost in three sets, but the match was in balance all the time, so of course we are still very confident for the future.”

Also Berlin Recycling Volleys won their first match in the 2019 edition of Champions League.
In a Pool D, Berlin Recycling Volleys defeated Greenyard Maaseik in four sets, with following scores: 25-23, 25-22, 18-25, 25-18.
Jolan Cox from Greenyard Maaseik was the top scorer of the match with 18 points, while Kyle Russell was the author of 14 points for Berlin Recycling Volleys.
