France Round 11: yesterday’s results.

1 min read

After the friday’s victories of Nice and Ajaccio at the tie break, yesterday in France ended the Round 11. Tours wins in Montpellier in the big match, while Sète and Cannes remains in the relegation zone.
In the match clou of the day Tours won at the tie-break on the field of Montpellier, taking full advantage of the 2 middleblockers Chinenyeze and Teryomenko who were the 2 best scorers of the team, with 18 and 17 points. With this victory, Tours is now only 3 points behind leaders Rennes.
At the bottom the situation of Sète, heavily defeated in Narbonne, was aggravated in what, looking at the standings, was a direct battle for salvation. Super performance of Lisandro Zanotti in the winning side, who scored 21 points (including 5 aces!) and 73% in attack.
Defeat in straight sets also for Nantes after a really opaque performance: Toulouse won clearly 3-0 despite the absence of the opposite holder Corteggiani.
Chaumont who finally recovered Baptiste Geiler, won 3-1 in Cannes.
Cannes suffered another defeat, despite the team finally starting to play some discrete performances. Despite this, and despite the 21:19 advantage in the fourth set, no point gained.
On the winning side, Ben Tara was the top scorer of the match with 24 points and 61% in attack, while in Cannes the top scorers were Ferens with 15 points (including 4 aces) and Hamzagic, who added 14.
