Superlega: summary of round 12.
4 min read
A summary? Modena couldn’t stop Trentino’s run, Perugia victorious against Sora, Kaziyski with a good debut in the victory of Verona against Latina and Milano beat Vibo Valentia in straight sets. Good performance also for Monza, 3:1 away against Siena, and another great victory of Padova, 3:0 against Ravenna.
Matey Kaziyski had a really excellent debut in Verona’s jersey, taking the role of a leader, and taking his first MVP in his first match played! The Bulgarian champion ended the match with 21 points, while Stephen Boyer contributed with 19 points in their 3-1 victory against Latina.
So, in the big match of the round, Trentino defeated Modena in four sets 3-1 (24:26, 25:23, 25:23, 25:20). Even though Modena had a better opening, the hosts didn’t want to lose this match in front of the home fans, playing at a really much higher level in the next three sets.
Uros Kovacevic was the top scorer on the winning side with 21 points and deservedly MVP of the match, while Russel added 20 points. In Modena, Ivan Zaytsev scored 20 points and a former player of Trentino Volley Tine Urnaut scored 17 points.
Bad day for Vibo Valentia, defeat in straight sets on the Milano field. The hosts are not wrong, and despite a decline in concentration at the beginning of the third set, they manage to win without much difficulty.
No doubt even on the match played in Padova, where the hosts have literally demolished the rivals of Ravenna, which has never entered the game.
The reigning champions of Perugia have downed Sora in four sets and Aleksandar Atanasijevic was the top scorer with 23 points, while Leon scored 18 points and was MVP of the match.
The curtain of round 12 of Superlega Credem Banca closes with the victory of Monza in four sets on the field of Siena, with a particularly brilliant performance by Plotnisky, author of 17 points and MVP of the match, while his teammate Ghafour was the best scorer with 20 points.
