On December 18, Maaseik smash Skra, Halkbank hit in the German wall and Zenit SP survive in Slovenia.
PGE Skra Belchatow have suffered a defeat in Belgium, which is the biggest upset in the second round of the CEV Champions League Group stage.
It was a great performance of Maaseik, that managed to defeat the Polish rival in straight sets.
Jolan Cox is the man of the match with 21 points and a 63% in the attack. On the other side, Mariusz Wlazly scored 15 points.
Also the German team United Volleys have scored a great victory in straight sets against the Turkish champions of Halkbank. Moritz Karlitzek was the top scorer of the match with 10 points.
Zenit St. Petersburg have barely managed to win the match in Slovenia, and they needed to play five sets against ACH Volley.
Oreol Camejo led the Russian team with 24 points, while Petar Dirlic scored 25 points in the Slovenian side.
Also Chaumont had a great performance, delivering a real volleyball show: they defeated Vital Heynen’s team Friedrichshafen in three sets with following results:25:15, 25:23, 25:18.
Matej Patak led the French team to the victory with 14 points.
Dinamo Moscow have scored the first victory in the CEV Champions League Group stage, and they defeated Arkas Izmir in straight sets. Dick Kooy had 12 points in Dinamo, while Adis Lagumdzija scored 13 points.
Three teams from Italy had a successful night on wednesday.
Against Zaksa, Modena managed to win, and after 14 victories, Zaksa suffered a defeat 3-1.
Ivan Zaytsev ended the game with 18 points, while Tine Urnaut contributed with 15 points. On the other side, Lukasz Kaczmarek scored 18 and Sam Deroo 16 points.
Wilfredo Leon with 24 points and Aleksandar Atanasijevic with 20 led Perugia to the victory against Tours away in four sets, and also Lube Lube Civitanova didn’t have any difficulties in the Czech Republic, beating Karlovarsko in straight sets. The Bulgarian opposite Tsvetan Sokolov scored 13 points.
The Polish team Gdansk defeated BR Volleys in three sets at the home court. Milos Hebda with 18 points and Maciej Muzaj with 17 points were the top scorers of the match.
Yesterday Earvin Ngapeth was the man who created the victory of Zenit Kazan against Roeselare.
Even if it was not one of the best performance of the russian champions, their performance was enough to win this match.
Ngapeth scored 21 points, while Nikita Alekseev had 17 and Alexey Spiridonov 14. In the home team, Lou Kindt ended the match with 17 points.
Knack Roeselare managed to steal one set from the reigning champions, who played this game without Matt Anderson, and Maxim Mikhailov played only a couple of minutes.
