Aich/Dob and Waldviertel in Final!

As in the previous season, the DenizBank AG VL finals series will be played between SK Posojilnica Aich/Dob and Union Raiffeisen Waldviertel. The reigning champion needed only 59 minutes at the home court to clearly beat the rivals of UVC Weber Row Ried / Innkreis in straight sets (25:15, 25:17, 25:12).
Top scorers of the match on the winning side were Matej Kök with 11 points and Kapcer Stelmach with 8, and Kilian Wachter with 9 and Nikals Stooss with 8 on the other side. Some numbers? Aces 4:1, winning blocks 12:5, Errors 12:27.

Great performance also for Waldviertel: they didn’t gave a single set in the third semi-final duel against the cup winner of UVC Holding Graz, winning in the Stadthalle Zwettl with the same result (25:16, 25:16, 25:20).
Waldviertel was just as convincing. Just three days after the 2:3 home defeat, nothing to do for Graz. For the hosts, Lukasz Szarek and Lars Bornemann were the top scorers respectively with 14 and 13 points, while Felix Koraimann with 10 points and Lorenz Koraimann with 9 were top scorers on the other side. Although Waldviertel scored less points in attack (33:35), they scored more aces (5:1) and really a significant number of killing blocks (16:3), also committed much less own error (13:21).

The “Best of 7” series will start on April 10 at Bleiburg’s Jufa Arena.
